Booksy reviews: how to see, manage and reuse them
Booksy reviews are the star ratings and comments a client leaves after an appointment booked through Booksy, shown on the business profile in the Booksy app and on booksy.com. Only a client with a completed booking can write one, the business can answer in public but cannot delete it, and the client has 30 days from the visit. We read the public review feed of the 30 Booksy profiles connected to JustReview on 30 September 2026, 30,010 reviews in total, and two findings shape the rest of this guide: a typical review lands within a day of the appointment, and since late August 2026 nearly half of new ones arrive as a bare star rating with no words attached.
How Booksy reviews work, rule by rule
Booksy explains its rules in its help centre and in How Booksy Reviews Work on its business blog. A rule is more useful next to evidence, so each one below sits beside what 30,010 real reviews show.
| Rule | What Booksy says | What the reviews show |
|---|---|---|
| Who can review | Only a client who booked and completed a service through Booksy | 30,010 of 30,010 carry the verified flag |
| When the client is asked | Automatically, thirty minutes after the appointment is completed, again 24 hours later | 58.6% to 67.8% arrive within 24 hours |
| How long the client has | Up to 30 days after the appointment | 6 of 12,355 timed reviews came later than 31 days |
| Can the business reply | Yes, in public | The median profile has answered 4.6% of its reviews |
| Can the business delete | No, removal only for breaking the terms of service | 206 one- and two-star reviews are still published |
| One review per client | Not stated in the published rules | 743 clients reviewed the same business more than once |
The last row is the one most guides get wrong. A Booksy review is attached to a visit, not to a person, so a regular can review you again after the next appointment. Among the 12,231 reviews that expose a reviewer identifier, 1,908 come from clients who reviewed that same business more than once, which is 15.6%. One client left fourteen reviews for a single salon. That is not abuse, it is a loyal customer being asked after every visit and answering.
How to leave a review on Booksy
This is the question clients type, and the answer is short. You need a finished appointment that was booked from your Booksy account, or booked for you by the business and linked to your account. A visit the salon never entered into Booksy cannot be reviewed, because there is nothing for the review to attach to.
Booksy then does the asking. A message arrives about half an hour after the appointment is completed, inviting you to review it in the app or on the website, and a second one follows a day later if you ignored the first. You can also open the finished visit in the app or on booksy.com and rate it from there. Pick the stars, write what happened, send. You can edit the review inside the 30-day window and remove it afterwards if you change your mind.
If you are past 30 days, the option is gone. Our data agrees with the rule almost perfectly: of 12,355 reviews where both the appointment time and the posting time are visible, 99.95% were posted within 30 days and six were later than 31.
How fast Booksy reviews arrive
About four reviews in ten, 12,433 of them, show the appointment time next to the time the review was written, and for 2026 the share is 91%. That lets us measure something no help page mentions: the gap between the chair and the keyboard. Times below count from the start of the appointment, so the real wait after the client walked out is a little shorter.
One profile distorts the pooled figure, so the table shows both views. That business collected 2,791 reviews in a single calendar year and half of its reviews were posted within about 36 minutes of the appointment start. It reads like a front desk asking while the client is still paying, though that is our guess from the timing.
| Posted within | All 30 profiles (12,355 reviews) | Without the fastest profile (8,702 reviews) |
|---|---|---|
| 3 hours | 42.0% | 25.7% |
| 24 hours | 67.8% | 58.6% |
| 48 hours | 78.6% | 72.7% |
| 7 days | 89.7% | 86.9% |
| 30 days | 99.95% | 99.93% |
Taken one business at a time, the median profile sees half of its reviews within 17.9 hours, and individual profiles range from 0.6 hours to 31.7. So the honest expectation is this: most of what you are going to get from a visit arrives by the next evening, nearly nine in ten within a week, and after that the visit is spent.
Three smaller patterns are worth knowing. Reviews are an evening habit: 32.6% are posted between 18:00 and 22:00, and the single busiest hour is 19:00. Sunday is a writing day rather than a working day, with 5.1% of appointments and 10.0% of reviews. And unhappy clients take longer and write far more. Outside the fastest profile, one- and two-star reviews arrive a median of 28.0 hours after the visit against 18.6 hours for five-star ones, and they average 432 characters against 77.
The September 2026 change: ratings without words
Booksy reviews used to be the one source where an empty card almost never happened. Before 29 July 2026 we count two reviews without text among 29,235. Then this:
| Month | New reviews | With no text | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| June 2026 | 241 | 0 | 0.0% |
| July 2026 | 219 | 1 | 0.5% |
| August 2026 | 261 | 17 | 6.5% |
| September 2026 | 478 | 220 | 46.0% |
It is still climbing. In the first ten days of September the share was 31.9%, and in the last ten days it was 63.9%. It is not one salon either: 22 of the 25 profiles that received any review in September received at least one without text, in Poland and in the United Kingdom. Our own production database, which stores what the importer brought in day by day, tells the same story independently, with 137 of 285 September reviews empty.
Two details suggest how it works. Monthly volume roughly doubled: the previous twelve months averaged 230 reviews and never passed 264, while September brought 478. Written reviews did not fall, there were 258 of them, so the star-only ratings came on top. And they come late: a median of 42.3 hours after the appointment against 9.8 hours for written reviews in the same month. That pattern fits a one-tap rating offered on the later reminder. We checked Booksy’s product updates page on 30 September 2026 and found no announcement, so that reading is our inference, not their statement.
For a business it changes two things. Your review count will grow faster than your supply of quotable sentences, and 234 of the 240 star-only ratings are five stars, so an average that was already 98.28% fives gets more top-heavy still.
How many reviews a Booksy profile collects
The median profile in our set holds 453 reviews, and twelve of the thirty hold more than a thousand. Over the last 365 days the median profile collected 89, about 7.4 a month. For scale, the median business in our Google data collects 12.5 reviews in a year, as we measured in how fast normal businesses collect reviews. A booking platform that asks after every visit is roughly seven times as productive.
The pace does not hold, though. Among the 26 profiles that are older than two years and once collected at least fifty reviews in a twelve-month stretch, the last twelve months brought a median of 41% of what their best twelve months did. Fourteen are running below half of their own peak and only four are within a tenth of it. Getting to the first hundred took a median of 414 days, with the quickest profile there in 12 days and the slowest in 1,855. So if you are wondering how to get more Booksy reviews, the data points away from waiting for the automatic request and toward whatever that one fast profile does, which looks like asking in person at the moment of paying.
How to see and manage your reviews as a business
Your reviews sit on your public profile, where any client can now sort them and filter by rating or staff member, a change Booksy shipped in December 2025. You read and answer them in Booksy Biz. You cannot delete one. Booksy removes a review only when it breaks the terms of service, which covers profanity, threats, hate speech and personal attacks, not a client who was disappointed.
That leaves the reply, and most owners do not use it. One profile in our set has answered 95% of its reviews. Take it out and 1,184 of 26,345 reviews have a reply, 4.5%. Twelve of the thirty profiles have answered fewer than one review in a hundred. Even the ones that hurt mostly go unanswered: 42 of 132 one-star reviews have a reply. When the other owners do reply, half do it within 25 hours and three in ten take longer than a week.
Reviews are also about people, not only the business. Over the last 365 days, 81.9% of reviews name the staff member and 84.0% name the service. Since April 2026 Booksy shows staff ratings during booking, so one stylist’s run of reviews now influences which chair gets booked. Photos remain rare: 296 reviews, just under 1%, carry one.
How this was measured
We read the public review feed of every Booksy profile connected to JustReview on 30 September 2026: 30 distinct profiles, 23 in Poland, six in the United States and one in the United Kingdom. We kept ratings, timestamps, text length and flags, and no names or review text. Thirty profiles are a small, self-selected sample weighted toward Poland, so read the ordering of the findings as more reliable than any single decimal. Our database stores 29,655 of these reviews across 32 accounts, fewer than the profiles show, because some accounts stopped syncing; the usual reasons are in why review counts do not match.
Reusing Booksy reviews on your own website
The reason to move these reviews off Booksy is simple: they are the largest pile of verified proof a salon owns, and a client who finds you through Google or Instagram never sees them. Our Booksy reviews widget reads your public profile from the address you paste in, with no Booksy login, and renders each review as real text in your page, with the Booksy mark on every card so a sceptic can check it.
The September change is where a widget earns its place. The Testimonials and Reviews Page widgets have a “Hide empty reviews” switch, so the new star-only ratings still count toward your total while the cards on your page stay readable. Layout advice for short five-star entries is in how to put Booksy reviews on your website, and the wider picture for the trade is in reviews for beauty salons. The snippet itself is two lines, covered in the installation guide.
Know the plan limits before you start. The free tier covers Google and Facebook only, so Booksy begins on Plus at EUR 9 a month with 1,000 stored reviews, and twelve of the thirty profiles above would need Pro for their full history. Both open with a 7-day trial, and the ladder is on the pricing page. Open an account, paste your Booksy profile address, and you will see your own reviews in a widget within minutes.
FAQ
Are Booksy reviews real?
As far as the platform's own data goes, yes. Booksy only lets a client with a completed booking leave a review, and when we read the public review feed of 30 Booksy profiles on 30 September 2026, all 30,010 reviews carried the verified flag, with no exceptions. The catch is the shape of the ratings, not their origin: 98.28% are five stars and only 0.69% are one or two stars, because a client who was unhappy mostly does not rebook and is never asked twice.
How do I leave a review on Booksy?
You need a finished appointment that was booked through your Booksy account, or booked for you by the business and linked to your account. Booksy sends a review request about thirty minutes after the appointment is completed and a second one 24 hours later, and you can also rate the finished visit from the app or from booksy.com. You have 30 days. In our data that limit is real: of 12,355 reviews with a known appointment time, six were posted more than 31 days after the visit.
Can a business delete a Booksy review?
No. Booksy states that it removes a review only when it breaks the terms of service, for example profanity, threats, hate speech or personal attacks, and not because it is negative. What the business can do is reply in public. Few do: on the median profile we measured, the owner had replied to 4.6% of reviews, and across all 30 profiles only 42 of 132 one-star reviews had an answer.
Do Booksy reviews need to include text?
Until the summer of 2026 they effectively always did: before 29 July 2026 we count two reviews without text among 29,235. That changed quickly. In August 2026, 17 of 261 new reviews on the profiles we read were a star rating with nothing written, and in September it was 220 of 478, which is 46.0%. We found no announcement of the change, so treat it as an observation from the data rather than a documented feature.
