How to embed Google Play reviews on your website

Copy the address of your app's Google Play listing, paste it into JustReview, pick a layout and add three lines of HTML to your page. The listing is re-read every 24 hours, so new reviews reach your site within a day.

Do I need the Google Play Developer API for this?

No. You paste the public listing address, the one anyone can open in a browser. There is no API key, no service account and no OAuth screen: the connector reads the same page a user would.

Which reviews get imported, all of them or only recent ones?

The connector reads what the public listing shows, and how many you can display is set by your plan rather than by the store: the free Basic plan covers 100 reviews. Google Play itself limits reviews per app version and per country, so what a listing shows publicly is not always the full lifetime history.

Which plan includes the Google Play connector?

Google Play sits on the Ultimate plan, 39 EUR a month. Google Business Profile reviews are a different source and are on the free Basic plan.

How the Google Play import works

A Google Play listing carries the reviews your users leave in the store, and JustReview brings them onto your own website: the displayed name, rating, text and date. You connect it by pasting the public listing address, with no developer account and no API key on your end. The connector is available on the Ultimate plan, 39 EUR a month, and the listing is re-read every 24 hours. Note that Google Play shows reviews per app version and per country, so a public listing is not always the complete lifetime history.

Where to put the Google Play widget

The page that matters is the one with the download button. Put the star rating right beside it and a short review carousel under the feature list. A pricing page for a paid app is the second place worth it. Three lines of HTML. How do I put my Google Play reviews on my website?
Connect your Google Play profile in the JustReview dashboard, pick a widget, and paste the generated snippet into your page. It is three lines of HTML and works on WordPress, Shopify, PrestaShop, Wix, Squarespace and any site where you can edit the source. JustReview imports the reviews from your Google Play listing, with the displayed name, star rating, text and date.
Which plan do I need for Google Play?
Available on the Ultimate plan, which costs 39 EUR a month. Page views, visitors, websites and domains are unlimited on every plan, including the free one, so what you pay for is the number of reviews you store, never traffic.
How often are the Google Play reviews updated?
Every 24 hours, on all plans. New reviews appear in your widget within a day of being published on Google Play, without you doing anything.
Do I have to own the Google Play profile?
Yes. You provide the address of your own app listing, so only reviews of your own app can be imported. JustReview is for showing your own reviews on your own website, not for copying somebody else's.
Can I hide a single bad review?
Individual imported reviews can be shown or hidden one by one on the Ultimate plan. Be careful with it: a wall of nothing but five stars reads as fake, and a handful of critical reviews with a decent average usually converts better than a perfect score.
Can I show Google Play and App Store reviews side by side?
Yes. Connect both sources and one widget can display them together, or you can give each platform its own widget next to the matching download button. The choice of sources is per widget.
